The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) received rehabilitation plans submitted by seven suspended mining companies in line with their efforts to resume operations.
The rehabilitation plan is a requirement set by DENR. AAM-Phil Natural Resources and Development Corp., Krominco Inc., Mt. Sinai Mining Exploration and Development Corp., Carrascal Nickel Corp., Zambales Diversified Metals Corp., Strong Built Mining Development Corp., and Emir Mineral Resources Corp. complied with the department’s condition.
On the other hand, Libjo Mining Corp. and Wellex Mining Corp. have yet to take any action to counter their suspension.
Upon approval of their submitted rehabilitation plans, the suspended mining firms will be given six months to resolve their violations. Then, they will have to undergo another round of evaluation.
The mining companies are only allowed to continue mining activities after passing all assessments and evaluations by DENR.
