In light of further promoting awareness on sustainable and responsible mining in the country, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Mines and Geosciences Bureau (DENR-MGB) has allotted P8.6 million for the entire timeline and future agenda of the initiative.
According to DENR-MGB’s press release, the allocated budget will cover everything from conceptualization, creation of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) print materials, social media account management, content production, online advertisement, documentary outputs, as well as the launch itself.
As the campaign was well-received by the general public in terms of communicating the responsible mining practices and initiatives of mining companies, the firms have expressed their willingness to allocate a portion of their IEC and Development of Mining Technology and Geosciences component from their Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) for this venture.
Thus, all these are facilitated by the DENR-MGB to ensure that the initiative is sustained across the country.
Launched on November 8, 2019, the #MineResponsibility Campaign is a product of the government’s persistent effort towards a sustainable, accountable, and responsible mining industry in the Philippines.
