Over 2,000 pieces of surgical masks, two units of IR thermometers, and 25 pieces of N98 mask were given to the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in Region 11 by Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) Incorporated which is affiliated with Aboitiz Group of Companies.
DENR Regional Director Ruth M. Tawantawan received the supplies and said that personal protective equipment (PPEs) will be distributed to their frontliners in the regional and provincial offices, according to a report.
Present during the distribution of supplies were DLPC President and Chief Operating Officer Rodger Velasco, Aboitiz Power Corporation External Relations Manager Jason Magnaye, and DENR-Davao Assistant Director for Management Services lawyer Ma. Mecedes Dumagan.
Aside from providing assistance, Aboitiz Group was one of the department’s partners when it comes to environmental protection and management, and conservation of marine turtles or the so-called “Pawikans,” Tawantawan added.
