OceanaGold Philippines Inc. (OGP) has remitted P397.8 million in local business taxes to the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino, reinforcing its commitment to economic development and responsible mining.

PNA reported the company paid P198.9 million to Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya, and P119.3 million and P79.6 million to Nagtipunan and Cabarroguis in Quirino, respectively.

OGP President and General Manager of External Affairs and Social Performance Joan Adaci-Cattiling highlighted the importance of continued mining operations in delivering benefits to host communities. “We are all working for the continuing operations of the mine so that we are able to continue giving benefits to our communities, agyaman kami (thank you).”

In 2023, OGP contributed P421.9 million in local business taxes, underscoring its consistent economic contributions to local governments. The company operates the Didipio Mine, an underground gold-copper mine straddling Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino, under a Financial and Technical Assistance Agreement (FTAA) initially granted in 1994 and renewed in 2021.

As a subsidiary of OceanaGold Corporation, OGP continues to implement sustainable mining practices and community development programs while maintaining its global mining operations in New Zealand and the United States. With its long-term commitment to responsible mining, OGP ensures that its economic contributions directly benefit host communities, local businesses, and government programs.
