Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SMPC) has bagged the Gold medal in FinanceAsia’s 25th Asia’s Best Companies Poll, earning recognition as the Philippines’ best-managed company in the Basic Materials sector.
The distinction was based on nominations from regional investors and financial analysts who evaluated the corporate performance, governance, and management practices of top firms across Asia over the past year.
SMPC’s gold ranking underscores its operational efficiency, strategic leadership, and ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into its core business. As the country’s only vertically integrated coal mining and power company, SMPC has consistently aimed to balance energy security with responsible resource development.

This year’s awards ceremony was held on June 17 at the Conrad Hong Kong hotel, celebrating companies that have demonstrated exceptional performance across key markets and sectors.
