Integrated energy and mining company Semirara Mining and Power Corporation (SMPC) was recognized for its excellence in investor relations, corporate governance, and sustainability. This resulted in them receiving five major awards at the 15th Institutional Investor Corporate Awards 2025 organized by Alpha Southeast Asia.
The awards were based on an independent poll of over 600 investors and analysts from Southeast Asia, the United States, and Europe. SMPC was named one of the six best-managed companies in the Philippines, with the following distinctions:
- 1st Place – Most Consistent Dividend Policy
- 3rd Place – Best Senior Management Investor Relations Support
- 3rd Place – Strongest Adherence to Corporate Governance
- 3rd Place – Best Strategic Corporate Social Responsibility
- 5th Place – Most Organised Investor Relations

According to Alpha Southeast Asia, the awardees represent the “crème-de-la-crème” of best practices in corporate governance, investor transparency, financial management, CSR, and integrated reporting in the entire region.
SMPC, the country’s largest domestic coal producer and a vertically integrated energy company, continues to play a key role in advancing national energy security and economic development.
