The Philex National Mines and Allied Workers Union (NAMAWU) has voted in favor of going on strike over an alleged bargaining deadlock with Philex Mining Corporation, following the union’s rejection of the company’s improved offer in Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) negotiations.
NAMAWU submitted the results of its strike vote referendum to the Department of Labor and Employment–National Conciliation and Mediation Board in the Cordillera Administrative Region on October 1.
Philex disclosed that the union had earlier voted on September 22, 2026 to reject what the company described as an improved offer in the ongoing CBA negotiations.
The company said the strike vote was based on the union’s alleged claim of a bargaining deadlock.
“The Company remains focused on resolving this issue in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment,” Philex said.
The labor dispute now moves forward with the strike vote results formally submitted to the government’s conciliation and mediation board as Philex continues to seek a resolution with labor authorities.
