The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) are looking to recruit more mining engineers and geologists in the Environment Department’s Community Environment and Natural Resources Offices (Cenros) beginning this month.
According to MGB Regional Director Alilo Ensomo Jr., MGB will be giving opportunities to those who graduated with a concentration in geology, mining engineering, and environmental sciences.
New recruits will have to undergo orientation and training as part of the application process.
“Those recruited will be given contractual appointments and will undergo training/orientation on mining laws before their deployment in Cenros next month,” Ensomo said.
Environment Chief Roy Cimatu earlier said he would prioritize strengthening Penros (Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Offices) and Cenros of his ministry in its enforcement capabilities in handling mining and environmental issues and concerns at the front line.
