Global miner OceanaGold Corp. exceeded the 2017 gold production guidance range of 150,000 to 160,000 ounces (oz.) raked via its Didipio Gold and Copper Mine project in Nueva Vizcaya, according to a statement released by the firm.
Mick Wilkes, OceanaGold president and chief executive officer, said the Didipio site has produced 176,790 oz., including 39,256 oz. produced in the fourth quarter.
“We are very pleased to report a strong finish to 2017 for OceanaGold as we achieved record quarterly production leading to the sixth consecutive year that we have achieved our annual guidance,” Wilkes said.
Production of copper reported 18,351 tons also in the same year, with 3,687 tons in the fourth quarter, all within the company’s target guidance range of 18,000 to 19,000 tons.
