Manny V. Pangilinan-led Philex Mining Corporation said that the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Environment Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) has granted its request for the amendment of the Environmental Compliance Certificate (ECC) in connection with its Tailings Storage Facility No. 3 Project in Itogon, Benguet.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Philex said that the ECC amendment would raise the height of dam embankments and offset dike by seven meters above sea level (masl) to 647 masl from the current 640 masl.
The revised ECC was granted by the DENR-EMB on Monday.
Back in June, Philex extended the life of its Padcal mine in Tuba for another two years, or until December 31, 2024.
