Emerging nickel producer DMCI Mining Corporation is set to expand its operations in 2025 to three active mines, including two new projects in Zambales and Palawan.
The Zambales Chromite Mining Company (ZCMC), which began operations in December 2024, is expected to reach full operational capacity by the first quarter of 2025. Located in Santa Cruz, Zambales, ZCMC holds an Environmental Compliance Certificate and is permitted to produce up to 1 million wet metric tons (WMT) annually.
Meanwhile, in Palawan, the Berong Nickel Corporation (BNC) is preparing to restart production at its Long Point mine in Aborlan, with its Mineral Production Sharing Agreement (MPSA) nearing completion.
DMCI Mining President Tulsi Das C. Reyes expressed confidence in the company’s growth, highlighting that the two new mines, along with the completion of the Long Point port, will improve operational and financial performance in 2025.

Reyes.
DMCI Mining committed Php 634 million to capital expenditures in 2024 and aims to allocate Php 400 million in 2025, underscoring its focus on sustained growth and expansion initiatives.
The company is targeting a combined annual production capacity of 3 million WMT across its three mines, including the Zambales Diversified Metals Corporation (ZDMC), pending approval of necessary permits for the Long Point mine.
BNC’s Quezon mine in Palawan, which was fully depleted in 2021, is undergoing a six-year rehabilitation program, expected to be completed by 2027.
DMCI Mining’s expansion reflects its commitment to increasing production capacity and enhancing financial performance, positioning it as a key player in the nickel industry.
