Global Ferronickel Holdings, Inc. (PSE: FNI), one of the country’s leading nickel ore exporters, has secured international recognition for corporate governance and social responsibility.
The company was named winner of the Best Practice Management Award for Corporate Social Responsibility at the In-House Community (IHC) Counsel of the Year Awards 2025, following a competitive field of around 200 nominations from 11 jurisdictions across Asia, the Middle East, and India. FNI was also shortlisted under the Industry Awards – Energy and Natural Resources category.
The IHC awards recognize excellence and innovation among in-house legal teams. For FNI, the CSR citation underscores its governance framework and long-term emphasis on responsible mining, environmental protection, and community development—areas increasingly tied to investor confidence and regulatory compliance in the extractives sector.
Separately, FNI Senior Vice President for Legal and Regulatory Affairs Atty. Noel B. Lazaro was named to the IHC Top Tier In-House Counsel List 2025, a global roster recognizing leading in-house legal and compliance professionals. The distinction highlights his role in steering the company’s legal and regulatory strategy as operating conditions for miners become more complex.
“In a workplace as nurturing and values-driven as FNI, the unwavering support and encouragement of our employees truly make all the difference. This recognition reflects not only individual effort, but the collective commitment of our entire organization to excellence, integrity, and responsible corporate governance,” Lazaro said.
FNI said the international honors reinforce its focus on governance discipline, environmental stewardship, and social development as part of its broader business strategy.
