The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB-13) held a re-orientation on the new mining policies to ensure that mining contractors and permittees will adhere with the said issuances.
MGB-13 personnel discussed the requirements of MGB Memorandum Circular No. 2018-02, MGB Memorandum Order No. 20-001, together with Statistical Reports, Application of Ore Transport Permit and Mineral Ore Export Permit, Stocks Validation, and Shipment Verification/Monitoring, according to a report.
MGB Caraga Regional Director Glenn Marcelo C. Noble highlighted the importance of collaboration in the compliance of all standards.
Noble also encouraged mining companies to be diligent and compliant in the enforcement of MGB’s programs and projects.
Issues and concerns encountered in using the Standardized Monitoring Checklist for Tenement; Exploration/Development/Operating Period; Proposed Mineral Processing/Industrial Sand and Gravel Permit Checklist Statistical Reports vis-à-vis Tenement Monitoring Checklist; Established Database vis-à-vis Tenement Monitoring Checklist; Annual Land-use were discussed.
Participating in the re-orientation were representatives from the Department of Health (DOH), Bureau of Customs, and Philippine Ports Authority.
