Members of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Regional Field Office XIII joined the Active Directory Domain Services Training-Workshop in line with the department’s goal to fully automate its information system by 2023.
The central and regional offices each had a set up of servers, network equipment, and other hardwares, as reported in a Philippine Information Agency article.
The Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) was implemented during the workshop. AD DS will provide a secured, structured, and hierarchical data storage for objects in a network such as users, computers, printers, and services.
This allows administrators to easily manage and store information about resources from a network as well as application data in a distributed database.
Participants also created a domain user master list, which includes user information and official email accounts.
Participants were able to accomplish all the requirements for AD DS including policies, organizational unit master list and an inventory of software licenses and subscriptions at the end of the
