The DENR-Mines and Geosciences Bureau, Regional Office 6 (MGB RO-6) recently oriented the provincial environmental office of Iloilo on the processing and approval of major requirements in small-scale mining and quarrying.
The documents are the Certificate of Environmental Management and Community Relations Record (CEMCRR) and the Social Development Management Program (SDMP), which are part of the permit applications in Region 6.
MGB RO-6 OIC Regional Director Raul A. Laput said that this was the result of discussions with the local government and the Provincial Mining and Regulatory Board (PMRB), according to a report.
MGB-6 said that this is in line with the government’s policy on the Ease of Doing Business (EODB).
A pool of MGB RO-6 technicalpersonnel presented the flow and guidelines of the application process for the CEMCRR and SDMP.
CEMCRR is a proof of good record of accomplishment of a company, while SDMP is a community development tool required of permit holders to ensure host communities would benefit from the implemented livelihood, education, infrastructure, medical and other social development programs.
