Benguetcorp Resources Management Corporation (BRMC), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Benguet Corporation has received awards from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR) Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Luzon regional office.
The company received an award for obtaining the highest score of 94.47% in the Tenement, Safety, and Health, Environment, and Social Development (TSHES) monitoring.
It was also recognized for having the best-recorded improvement in operations for 2020 under the metallic category, as well as keeping its area in Sta. Cruz, Zambales safe and conducive for work after attaining tw million man-hours worked without lost time due to accidents in 2021.
“These recognitions and awards underscore the long-term commitment of Benguet Corporation to safe and environmentally friendly mining operations within and outside the host communities in Sta. Cruz, Zambales,” the company said in a statement.
BRMC accounted for 72% of Benguet Corporation’s Php 3.8 billion revenue in 2021.
