A new Level 2 Water System in Barangay Don Mariano Perez, Diffun, Quirino is now operational, following its turnover on August 6, 2025. The project, funded under FCF Minerals Corporation’s 2024 Annual Social Development and Management Program (ASDMP), ensures a dependable water supply for the community and the local elementary school.
FCF in a Facebook post said the system includes one intake, one reservoir mainline, and six tap stands strategically installed within Don Mariano Perez Elementary School and the barangay hall compound. Construction was completed on July 21, 2025, and formally handed over after a final inspection by FCF Minerals’ SDMP Resident Engineer Engr. Nestor Bambalan, Barangay Captain Joseph Wakat, barangay council members, and school representatives.
Barangay officials and school beneficiaries welcomed the project, noting its impact on daily life and health outcomes. The facility addresses long-standing challenges in accessing clean water, reducing the burden on students and families who previously relied on less reliable sources.
Funded through the community shares of FCF’s Social Development and Management Program, the water system represents a direct reinvestment of mining revenues back into the host community. The initiative also aligns with Sustainable Development Goal No. 6: Clean Water and Sanitation for All.
Residents expressed gratitude to FCF Minerals and the barangay government for prioritizing water access as a key development need. Teachers highlighted that the facility will not only improve sanitation in schools but also support better learning conditions for children.
The project builds on FCF’s broader commitment to community-driven development in its host and neighboring areas, with water access, education, health, and livelihood projects forming the backbone of its annual SDMP initiatives.
