The country’s largest nickel ore exporter Nickel Asia Corp. will resume ore shipments after Surigao del Norte province has allowed its mining operations to continue.
The firm will strictly implement quarantine guidelines, covering their crew loading ores to the vessels, according to its filing to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE).
Surigao del Norte has suspended the mining operations in its province since April 1 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The province also holds the biggest nickel mines ore, which supplies to Chinese nickel pig producers and smelters.
