Philex Mining Corporation appoints new Vice President (VP) and Head of Legal Counsel after Atty. Joan A. De Venecia-Fabul, former holder of said post, finally submitted her resignation last March 31.
The firm, through a disclosure to the stock exchange filed by its VP for Finance and Chief Financial Officer Danny Yu, named Atty. Jonas Emanuel S. Santos as the new VP and Head of Legal which was appointed on March 11. His appointment took effectivity on April 1.
Santos’ effective date of appointment is just in time of Venecia-Fabul vacating the post to transfer to an unspecified affiliate company of Philex Mining.
Additionally, the disclosure also indicates Santos taking another position.
“Further to appointment of Atty. Jonas Emanuel S. Santos as Vice President and Head of Legal last March 11, 2019. Please be informed that Atty. Santos shall assume the position as Data Privacy Officer,” the firm said in the disclosure filed Monday, April 1.
Santos graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management Engineering Degree from the Ateneo de Manila University and obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Philippines Diliman. He served as Chevron Philippines, Inc.’s corporate counsel of and Sycip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan’s senior associate.
Meanwhile, Engr. Vic Morris A. Yodong was also appointed as VP and Padcal Resident Manager having the same appointment date and appointment effectivity of March 11 as per the disclosure.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering Degree from Adamson University and a licensed mining engineer with over forty years of industry experience from both local and international mining companies.
