The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) maintains its International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certification after fulfilling the requirements and passing the standards of the audit conducted by SGS Philippines, Inc., the organization’s certifying body in the Philippines.
MGB’s enrolled processes and conformance to ISO’s new Quality Management Systems (QMS) were intensely reviewed in the mentioned recertification audit conducted October 22-23 last year.
Last March 1, the ISO 9001:2015 QMS Certificate was presented to MGB’s Acting Director Atty. Wilfredo G. Moncano and Acting Assistant Director Atty. Danilo U. Uykieng by Engr. Rodolfo L. Velasco, Jr., MGB’s chief of Mine Safety, Environmental and Social Development Division, and the bureau’s quality management representative.
Said certification includes MGB’s services from processing and approval of Exploration Permit applications including renewal; processing and approval of Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program and Final Mine and/or Decommissioning Plan; to Metallurgical and Geological Laboratory Testing Services for mineral industries.
The certification is valid until December 8, 2021 and subjected to satisfactory surveillance audits.
