Authorities dismantled two illegal mining sites in Davao de Oro by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region XI (MGB-XI) and National Bureau of Investigation–Southeastern Mindanao Regional Office (NBI-SEMRO).

The joint operation, backed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), acted on reports of illegal mining in Purok Lanipga and Purok Mandaupan, both in Barangay Bahi. Upon investigation, authorities discovered abandoned bunkers and tunnels showing signs of recent operations.

The dismantling of the sites led to the seizure of mining equipment and sacks of copper and mineral ores.

NBI Director Jaime Santiago commended NBI-SEMRO agents and cited the role of coordination with the MGB in securing the ores and equipment. He also thanked the AFP and PNP for their assistance.
